Savani Heritage: Restoring India's Architectural Splendor

Established in 1995 by Dr. Ram Savani, Savani Heritage Conservation Pvt. Ltd. has dedicated over two decades to preserving India's rich architectural heritage. Based in Mumbai, Maharashtra, the company has successfully restored more than 300 heritage sites across the nation.

Savani Heritage operates with the guiding principle of 'जीर्णोद्धारक'—a Sanskrit term meaning 'Restoring the lost Glory.' The company seamlessly integrates traditional craftsmanship with modern conservation techniques to rejuvenate historical structures. Their expertise encompasses the use of lime mortar for tasks such as lime pointing, constructing moldings and cornices, waterproofing, and restoring pitched roofs. Additionally, they focus on cleaning stone facades, reinforcing foundations, and structurally strengthening weakened edifices.

Their portfolio includes iconic landmarks like IIM Ahmedabad’s Vikram Sarabhai Library, Mumbai’s Royal Opera House. Other notable projects include:

  • Vesu Adaran (Agiari), Surat: A late 18th-century Parsi fire temple that underwent extensive restoration to address structural deterioration.

  • Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh: Restoration of the iconic seven-story building, a centerpiece of the university campus.

  • Surat Castle, Gujarat: A historic fortification revitalized to preserve its architectural integrity.

  • Town Hall, Visakhapatnam: A colonial-era public building restored to its former grandeur.

  • Cellular Jail, Port Blair: Preservation of the infamous colonial prison, now a national memorial.

From modest beginnings with annual revenues of ₹4-5 lakh, Savani Heritage's financial trajectory has been remarkable. In the fiscal year 2023-24, the company reported revenues of ₹124.7 crore. This success led to an appearance on Season 4 of Shark Tank India, where they secured a deal with Ritesh Agarwal: ₹1 crore for 0.8% equity and ₹2 crore in debt, valuing the company at ₹125 crore. The company reported ₹124 crore in gross revenue last year and projected an increase to ₹300 crore this year, with ongoing projects worth ₹850 crore.

Savani Heritage's dedication to quality has earned them 11 UNESCO awards, underscoring their commitment to preserving cultural landmarks with authenticity and precision. Their team of over 2,500 professionals, including all levels of hierarchy who collaborates with historians, architects, and artisans to ensure each project reflects India's rich heritage.

Looking ahead, Savani Heritage aims to expand its impact by restoring 1,000 monuments by 2030. This ambitious vision reflects their unwavering commitment to safeguarding India's architectural and cultural legacy for future generations.
