EasyRugs: Revolutionizing Home Décor with Washable, Stylish Rugs

Founded in 2022 by interior designer Harnam Kaur and lawyer-turned-entrepreneur Samrath Singh Nagpal, EasyRugs is a Delhi-based startup pioneering India's first line of washable, pet-friendly, and anti-skid rugs. The brand aims to offer affordable, stylish, and low-maintenance soft furnishings for modern Indian homes.
Harnam Kaur, leveraging her background in interior design, identified a gap in the market for budget-friendly yet stylish rugs. Her husband, Samrath Singh Nagpal, recognized the business potential in washable rugs and joined her in shaping EasyRugs into a scalable venture.
In March 2025, EasyRugs appeared on Season 4 of Shark Tank India, seeking ₹35 lakh for a 5% equity stake, valuing the company at ₹7 crore. The founders demonstrated their product's unique feature by spilling coffee and ketchup on a rug and effortlessly cleaning it, showcasing its washability. While some sharks raised concerns about the brand's name and scalability, Aman Gupta and Vineeta Singh offered ₹35 lakh for 5% equity, along with a 5% royalty until ₹52.5 lakh is recouped. The founders accepted the deal and agreed to consider rebranding.
Since its launch in September 2023, EasyRugs has achieved ₹83 lakh in lifetime sales. The Indian rugs market is estimated to range from ₹234 million to ₹2,000 crore, positioning EasyRugs as a strong contender in a vast and growing industry.
EasyRugs offers a variety of hand-washable rugs that are sustainable, low-maintenance, and non-slip. Their collections draw inspiration from nature, culture, and contemporary trends, aiming to add warmth and texture to homes in a sustainable way.
With the funding secured from Shark Tank India, EasyRugs plans to enhance designs, launch interactive kids’ rugs, scale production, and strengthen its brand, all while staying committed to sustainability.
